Thank you for your interest in the Mosaic! We publish a variety of student work, ranging from art and photography to poetry, nonfiction and fiction short stories. Our goal is to create a collection of literary work that highlights the creativity, ingenuity, and intelligence of Marist students.
The submission period for Spring 2025 is now closed.

Why Submit?
Submitting to the Mosaic offers an opportunity to have your creative work published, both in print and digitally. Accepted pieces can be added to resumes and portfolios. Your work will also be considered for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in its category, earning you additional acclaim to show off to potential employers and graduate schools.

More importantly, this is your chance to contribute to a beautiful collection of student literary work that will be looked upon by generations of future Red Foxes.
Guidelines for Submissions
-
There is a strict 4 submission limit across all categories. Additional submissions will not be considered.
-
All written work must be submitted as BOTH a Word file and a PDF file to maintain proper formatting.
-
Do not include any identifying information in the title or body of the document (name, graduation year, CWID, etc.)
-
Submissions will not be accepted through email or after the deadline. No exceptions.
-
Revisions will not be accepted after the deadline.
AI Policy
Mosaic has developed an AI policy in accordance with Article II of our by-laws, which state:

"Article II: Purpose
-
The purpose of this organization is to produce a Fall and Spring issue of a creative arts journal.
-
Mosaic offers a collection of creative work for all Marist community members to enjoy.
-
It also provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to publish their writing, visual art, and other creative work.
-
Everything published in Mosaic must be the original work of student creators."
Thus, our position on material produced using Artificial Intelligence (AI) is as follows:
-
The editors will not knowingly accept and publish AI-generated work, including any written work and all mediums of art and photography.
-
As part of the submission process, all submitters will be required to affirm that AI has not be used to generate the work.
-
The use of AI is admissible in supplementary fashions, such as for references or brainstorming; however, the entirety of the work submitted must be the original work of the student.
While AI is a useful tool in certain applications, we strongly feel that AI-generated work does not reflect our mission to amplify the voices of Marist students. We value human expression and believe that Mosaic must nurture creativity by publishing authentic work.
